Roy Edward Campbell, Jr. (born November 19, 1947) is an American priest of the Catholic Church and serves as an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Washington.

Biography[]

On May 26, 2007, Campbell was ordained to the priesthood. Pope Francis appointed Campbell auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Washington on March 8, 2017.^[1]^[2] On April 21, 2017, Campbell was consecrated as a bishop by Donald Wuerl.^[3] On March 21, 2019, Campbell was elected president of the National Black Catholic Congress (NBCC), succeeding John Ricard, the retired bishop of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee.^[4]
