Ryosei Kokubun (Japanese: 国分 良成, romanizedKokubun Ryōsei; November 1, 1953) is Japanese academics and author. He is serving as the President, National Defense Academy of Japan since April 2012.[1] Kokubun main interest is on Chinese politics, he had previously served as Dean, Faculty of Law and Politics of the Graduate School of Law in the Keio University from 2007 to 2012, President of Japan Association for Asian Studies from 2008 to 2012 and presently President of Japan Association of International Relations.[2]

He had also served as the director of the Keio University East Asian Institute, Japan from 1999 to 2007 in Keio University.[3]

Academic background[]

He attended the Keio University for his bachelor of arts degree in laws in 1976 and for his masters of arts degree in laws in 1978. He obtained his Ph.D, of law at the same Keio University in 1981.[4]

Academics[]

In 1981, he became an assistant professor at Keio University to 1985 during the time from 1982 he was a visiting scholar of the Harvard University for FairBank Center to 1983, in 1984 for the University of Michigan of Center for Chinese Studies, in 1988 for Fudan University China and in 1997 for Beijing University China. He became an associate professor at Keio University in 1985 and in 1992 he became Professor.[4]
