SPI International BV is a privately-owned international media company based in the Netherlands.[1] It operates 35 television channels on five continents, with 45 million subscribers.[2]

Divisions[]

  • Filmbox International - U.K.-based movie channels.[2]
  • Mediabox Broadcasting International - themed television channels such as FightBox HD and FashionBox HD, also based in the UK.
  • Kino Polska TV - Polish movie channel and production company which also owns Cyfrowe Repozytorium Filmowe (CRF, a digital remastering company) and 41.04% of Stopklatka TV, another film channel.[2]
  • Cable Networks Television & Partners is a joint venture with Polish cable operators to produce Zoom TV, a lifestyle channel.[2]

History[]

In 2019 SPI bought Film1 from Sony Pictures Television.[3] Film1 operates movie channels in the Netherlands including Film1 Action, Film1 Drama, Film1 Family and Film1 Premiere.

In September 2021, the French television channel Canal+ acquired a 70% stake in the company.[4]
