Sabrina Ghayour (born 5 January 1976 in Tehran, Iran) is a British-Iranian Chef, food writer and author.[1] She is the host of the supper club ‘Sabrina's Kitchen’ and released her first cookbook, Persiana, in May 2014.[2]

Career[]

Ghayour's debut cookbook Persiana has been published in 13 different countries and has gone on to sell over a quarter of a million copies worldwide.[citation needed] Her second book Sirocco and third book Feasts also went on to become best-sellers and her fourth book 'Bazaar – Vibrant Vegetarian Recipes' was published in April 2019.

Ghayour teaches Persian and Middle Eastern classes at cookery schools. She has worked as a consultant on menu and product development for corporate firms, retail brands, airlines, caterers and supermarkets.[citation needed]

Ghayour has been on BBC1's Saturday Kitchen cookery show as well as Channel 4's Sunday Brunch TV show and has been a Guest judge on TV shows including Masterchef, Great British Menu and Top Chef Canada.

Persiana[]

Persiana is Ghayour's debut cookbook, and was released in May 2014. It is a celebration of the food and flavours from the regions around the Southern and Eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea.[3] Although some recipes in the book are authentic, some draw inspiration from the Middle East and combine the wonderful flavours and ingredients of the region with everyday produce available in supermarkets everywhere.

Persiana spent nine weeks in the top 10 best-seller list and won the Observer Food Monthly's 2014 Best New Cookbook award in October.[4]
