Early life and education[]

Said Gutseriev was born on April 18, 1988 in Moscow. From the age of 8, he was trained and educated in the UK. He studied in the Papplewick Primary School, located nearby Ascot. Later he studied at Harrow Independent Boarding School.

After graduation, he continued his education at University of Oxford, where he received Master's Degree in Archaeology and Geology. Then he enrolled at the University of Plymouth, where he was awarded an MA degree in Management of Oil and Gas Business.[4][5]

Career[]

After graduation from the Plymouth University, from 2012 to 2014 he was working at Glencore (the Swiss trading Company) in London. Said started as the analyst in the Department of Oil Projects’ Structured Financing and continued his work in the financial office of the company.[5]

Since 2014, he has headed and served on the boards of directors of large industrial enterprises engaged in oil production, oil refining, and coal mining. Currently he is a board member in PJSC M.video, SFI Investment Holding, which owns Europlan leasing company, 49% of VSK insurance company, Direct Credit broker, cloud gaming service GFN.RU and minority shares in a number of other assets.[1][6][7]

In 2019 he was new to Forbes list of the wealthiest businessmen, with a fortune of $ 1.3 billion, ranked at No.1717 spot. In 2021, Forbes estimated his fortune at $ 1.7 billion.[3][8][9]

Said Gutseriev is the founder and partner at Larnabel Ventures investing in new technologies in finance, education, marketing and AI. Apart from participating in a venture capital, Larnabel also acts as a founder of technological projects where it owns a majority stake and runs operational management of the business. Recent examples include GFN.RU, the operator of GeForce Now Cloud Gaming service powered by NVIDIA technologies in Russia and the CIS.[2]

Larnabel Ventures also actively invests in crypto trading projects, including TON (the crypto project from the Telegram founders), Capital.com/Currency.com (crypto exchanges), and Zubr.io (a crypto derivatives exchange). Based in the recent information, in August 2021 Larnabel Ventures withdrew from the projects of Currency.com, Capital.com and Zubr.io. Analysts say exiting these assets could bring Said Gutseriev from $ 150 to $ 300 million. In the summer of 2021, the media reported that Gutseriev plans to open a new investment fund that will invest in tech startups from various industries.[10][11]
