Salman Ahmed is an American national security and foreign policy advisor serving as the director of policy planning in the Biden administration.

Education[]

Ahmed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the New York University Stern School of Business and a Master of Philosophy in international relations from the University of Cambridge.[1]

Career[]

During the Obama administration, Ahmed was the head of strategic planning for the United States National Security Council. He has since been a fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he specializes in foreign policy and research.[2][3][4]
