Sampson Davis is an African-American medical doctor, a New York Times Best-Selling Author, and motivational speaker.[1]

Early life and education[]

Davis was born in Newark, New Jersey. He was raised as the fifth of six children and is the son to Kenneth Davis and Ruth Davis. He attended University High School in New Jersey where he met Rameck Hunt and George Jenkins. The three bonded and they proceeded to study at Seton Hall University. After college, Davis went on to receive his medical degree from Rutgers Medical School. He then completed his residency in emergency medicine at the same hospital he was born, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.[2][3]

Career[]

Today, Davis is a board certified emergency medicine physician. He is known as one of The Three Doctors and is a co-founder of The Three Doctors Foundation, a foundation he formed with his high school friends Dr. Rameck Hunt and Dr. George Jenkins. Together, they regularly speak at various venues and have written bestselling books.[4]

Davis currently works at several emergency departments in New Jersey and is the medical director of multiple urgent care centers.

He is a frequent guest on Dr. Oz, and has made numerous appearances on CNN and The Today Show discussing prevalent medical topics.[5][6] During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Davis took the initiative and became a leading voice for testing and vaccinations.[7]
