Sarah Caroline Jarvis MBE FRCGP (born 3 December 1962)[citation needed] is a general practitioner, broadcaster, and television doctor.

Career[]

She qualified as a medical doctor in July 1986 from University of Oxford with a BM BCh, and later went on to graduate from the University of Cambridge with an MA, and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners[when?].[1][2]

Jarvis is currently working in Shepherd's Bush, London, England, and has been since 1990.[3]

She is also the health and medical reporter for The One Show, a television doctor on Good Morning Britain, ITV News and Jeremy Vine,[4] and is a regular guest on The Jeremy Vine Show, which airs weekdays on BBC Radio 2 from 12pm until 2pm and is the Clinical Consultant for health website Patient UK, alongside being a GP trainer.[2]

Jarvis was awarded an MBE in the 2018 New Year's honours list for services to general practice and public understanding of health.[5]

In March 2021 she commented that the display of the Union Jack by minister Robert Jenrick in the background of a video interview was inappropriate, remarking "nobody used the European flag to signal that they were racist".[6]

Personal life[]

Jarvis was educated at Millfield, Street, Somerset.[citation needed] She lives in London with her dog, and is a keen gardener.[5]
