Sarah Marie Jeffery (born April 3, 1996)[1] is a Canadian actress, singer, and dancer. She is known for her work on the NBC series Shades of Blue and Disney Channel's Descendants franchise.[2] Since 2018, she has portrayed the lead role of Maggie Vera on the CW series Charmed.

Early life[]

Jeffery was born in Vancouver, British Columbia[1] and is of mixed African, Indigenous Canadian, and English descent.[3] Jeffery has been singing, dancing and acting in musicals and theatrical productions since she was three years old.

Career[]

Jeffery's first major acting role was in the Cartoon Network television film Aliens in the House.[citation needed] Shortly after, she landed a lead role in the DirecTV original series Rogue, working opposite Thandie Newton, playing the role of her daughter, Evie Travis.[4] She subsequently joined the cast of Fox's sci-fi drama series Wayward Pines playing the recurring role of Amy,[5][6] opposite Matt Dillon and Carla Gugino.

In 2015, Jeffery played the role of Princess Audrey, daughter of Princess Aurora, in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Descendants.[7] She followed this up by playing the role of Audrey in the animated spinoff to the film, Descendants: Wicked World.[8] In 2019, she reprised her role as Audrey in the third and final instalment of the franchise, Descendants 3.[9][10][11]

In January 2016, she began a lead role in Adi Hasak's American police procedural crime series Shades of Blue, playing Cristina Santos, the daughter of Jennifer Lopez's character;[12][13] the series was renewed for a second season.[14] The same year Jeffery starred in the comedy film Be Somebody with Matthew Espinosa.[15]

In February 2018, Jeffery was cast in the lead role of Maggie Vera in The CW's fantasy drama series Charmed, a reboot of the 1998 series of the same name.[16] The reboot "centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches."

Personal life[]

In December 2019, Jeffery revealed through Instagram that she struggles with obsessive–compulsive disorder.[17] She is in a relationship with her Charmed co-star Nick Hargrove.[18]

  17. ^ Jeffery, Sarah (December 12, 2019). "I was having a chat with my castmates yesterday about this platform, and how it is such a dangerous place to be. I know we've all heard that before, that Instagram is a lie, but genuinely I can tell you, it does not paint a full picture. It's very curated and deceiving. And as a person on here with somewhat of a following, I'm beginning to feel irresponsible for not showing that whole picture. If I want to use this app, I feel the responsibility to share the duality of life, which is there truly are highs and lows. So, I might get some eye rolls but the truth is I have been struggling heavily with my mental health, specifically OCD, the past little bit. I say this not for attention or anything in that vein, I just really feel like it's damaging to not see anything relatable or real coming through your feed. Some days are a real challenge, sometimes it feels like I'm army crawling my way through a day in thick ass mud. that's just the way it is
