Sarkasi Said 'Tzee' (27 March 1940 – 14 October 2021) was a Singaporean batik artist who was deemed the Baron of Batik.[1] Sarkasi had designed batik arts since he was 6 years old till his death. Besides art, he was also involved in acting in Malay dramas, films.

In 2003, he created a 103-metre batik painting which set a Guinness World Record for the world’s longest batik painting.[2]

Throughout Sarkasi's career, he has designed thousands of Batik drawings, paintings and held art workshops to promote Malay Batik painting.

He also designed Batik for National Day Parade 2018 for Singaporean leaders. His artwork has been displayed in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and as far as America and Japan.[3]

In 2020, Sarkasi was awarded the Cultural Medallion.[4]

On 14 October 2021, Sarkasi died of kidney failure.[5][3]
