Sarnelli House Thailand

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sarnelli House Thailand is a charitable institution providing medical help and shelter for children affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as orphaned, abandoned and abused children. It is in Nong Khai (northeast Thailand). It was founded by the Redemptorist Roman Catholic Father Michael Shea in 1999. Blessed Gennaro Sarnelli was an early Redemptorist priest, who ministered to young people on the streets of Naples, Italy.

Sarnelli House, considered as hospice and refuge, was initially built by donations from the Redemptorist's Priests Foundation of Thailand.[1]

The Center in Thailand is sponsored by churches, the Thai Children's Trust,[2] and private individuals from Germany, USA, Ireland, Canada, Australia, partly from Thailand. Yearly expenses on food, medicine, education, salaries and utilities are about US$600,000.

The present state of Sarnelli House Thailand allows to accommodate about 150 children, who stay there until completing their education.
