Saskia

Saskia is a feminine name. There are at least two different sources of the name. One is of North German and Northeast Netherlands origin, where it originally meant "a Saxon woman" (metathesis of "Saxia"). The other, of Slavic origin, means "protector of mankind", and is evolved from "Sasha", a Slavic language short form of "Alexandra").[citation needed]
