Facilities[]
The station has two platforms connected by a ramped footbridge over the line, which opened in the summer of 2014. Before the footbridge was built, the platforms were linked by a surface crossing.[1]
The station house has been converted for private use – a private dwelling and an office. The station is now unstaffed; all tickets must be obtained from the inspector on the train, as there are no ticket machines at the station.[2]
Facilities are limited to shelters on each platform and a help point and departure board for passenger enquiries and information about oncoming trains. There is bicycle storage and a small car park.[3]
Services[]
Services at Saxilby are operated by Northern Trains and East Midlands Railway.
On weekdays and Saturdays, there is an hourly Northern Trains service which runs between Lincoln and Leeds with services running non-stop between Worksop and Sheffield as part of the Northern Connect network. East Midlands Railway provide 5 trains per day which run between Lincoln and Doncaster with some trains extending to Sleaford and Peterborough.[4]
On Sundays, the Northern Trains service runs to Huddersfield instead of Leeds and calls at all stations between Worksop and Sheffield. There are no East Midlands Railway services at the station on Sundays.
