Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh

Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh is an Irish-teaching primary school located in Garbally Drive, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland. The school has approximately 212 pupils[1] and 13 teachers, and its site comprises nine classrooms, two offices, a hall, a library, and three playgrounds.[citation needed]

Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh was founded in 1989 by Carmel Farrell.[2] It started off in just one house with nine pupils, later expanding to Society Street with two playgrounds, an office and four classrooms.[citation needed] It moved to newly built premises in 2005.[citation needed]

The school has won a number of prizes and awards over the years in Gaelic football, hurling, camogie, debating and quizzes. They have won an Olympic athlete flag in 2019 and a 'Green Schools Award' (an award for a clean school).
