Scott McGill (born 27 January 2002) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a midfielder for Airdrieonians, on loan from Heart of Midlothian.

Early and personal life[]

Born in Edinburgh,[1] McGill grew up in Gorgie and attended Broughton High School in Edinburgh.[2][3]

Career[]

He played youth football for Tynecastle and later for Heart of Midlothian.[3] He signed his first professional contract with the club in June 2018.[4] He made his debut for the club on 10 October 2020 in a 1–0 Scottish League Cup victory over Cowdenbeath,[5] and appeared again for them three days later in a League Cup victory over Raith Rovers.[6][1] He made his league debut on 20 April 2021 in a goalless draw with Greenock Morton.[1]

On 21 July 2021, he joined Scottish League One club Airdrieonians on loan until January 2022.[7] McGill scored on his debut for Airdrie, in a 2–0 win against their Lanarkshire derby rivals Motherwell.[8]
