Señorita Panamá 2017 the 51st Señorita Panamá pageant selected to the Miss Universe & Miss World. The pageant has been split into two contests this year Señorita Panamá Mundo and Señorita Panamá. This will be held the 2nd edition of the renewed Señorita Panama pageant, after Justine Pasek, Miss Universe 2002, and César Anel Rodríguez be named the new directors of the pageant in Panamá. 20 preliminary contestants have been selected from all over Panama and competed for the prestigious crown.[1]

The Señorita Panamá was held at the Atlapa Convention Centre, Ciudad de Panamá, Panama, August 25, 2017. About 20 contestants from all over the country will compete for the prestigious crown. Señorita Panamá 2016 Keity Drennan of Panamá Centro crowned Laura de Sanctis of Contadora as her successor at the end of the event as the new Señorita Panamá. [2]

This year there was a new change for sixth consecutive time was continued the final competition entitled "Señorita Panamá Mundo" was announced the winner of the Señorita Panamá Mundo title. Alessandra Bueno Señorita Panamá World 2016 of Panamá Centro crowned of Taboga as her successor at the end of the event. The winner cannot participate in the competition for Señorita Panamá Universe.[3]

Laura de Sanctis Señorita Panamá 2017 competed in Miss Universe 2017 on November 25, 2017. Señorita Panamá World represented Panama in Miss World 2017 pageant held on December 2, 2017 at the Shenzhen Dayun Arena in Shenzhen, China PR also Erika Parker Señorita Panamá Earth represented Panama in Miss Earth 2017 and Darelys Santos represented Panama in Miss International 2017 in Tokyo, Japan on November 14, 2017.[4]

National Costume Selection[]

This year the contestant, was celebrated in a private casting. It is a competition showing the country's wealth embodied in the colorful and fascinating costumes made by Panamenian designers combining the past and present of Panama. The winner costume represent Panamá in Miss Universe 2017 and the second place in Miss Earth 2017.

The Señorita World Panamá pageant was held at the Atlapa Convention Centre, Ciudad de Panamá, Panama, on July 4, 2017. About 20 contestants from all over Panamá competed for the prestigious title. This year by decision of the international Miss World Organization, the election of the new global sovereign was held in a separate competition to the traditional national election. Alessandra Bueno Señorita Panamá Mundo 2016 crowned her successor as the new Señorita World Panamá.

This Preliminary Competition also called The Runway of the Misses the event was held on 31 May 2017, is the night when the twenty finalists were selected from Señorita Panamá 2017 are presented to the public and press in the Swimsuit and cocktail dress categories.[6]
