"Secrets" is a song by Canadian singer the Weeknd from his third studio album, Starboy (2016). The song samples two new wave songs: "Pale Shelter", a song by the English band Tears for Fears as well as "Talking in Your Sleep" by the American band The Romantics.[5] The song was written by Abel Tesfaye, Martin McKinney, Henry Walter, Dylan Wiggins, Roland Orzabal, Coz Canler, Jimmy Marinos, Wally Palamarchuk, Mike Skill, and Peter Solley, and produced by Doc McKinney, Tesfaye and Cirkut. It was released to radio in Italy on November 10, 2017, as the album's final international single.[6]

Chart performance[]

Like the rest of the tracks from Starboy, "Secrets" charted on the US Billboard Hot 100, reaching number 47. The song also charted and peaked at number 27 on the Canadian Hot 100.[7]

Music video[]

The music video for "Secrets" was directed by Pedro Martin-Calero and was filmed at the University of Toronto Scarborough and the Toronto Reference Library.[8] It was released on June 11, 2017.[9] The video features Canadian singer Black Atlass.[10]
