Sengkang Secondary School is a co-educational government secondary school located in Sengkang, Singapore.

History[]

Sengkang Secondary School was established on 4 January 1999. It shared the same school compound with Hai Sing Girls' High School along 1192 Upper Serangoon Road until 12 March that year, when it was moved to its present location at 10 Compassvale Lane. It was built at a cost of S$23 million, on 3 hectares of land. The school's first principal was Ng Shok Yan. It started with a teaching staff of about four Head of Departments and 10 teachers for seven Secondary One classes. The total student enrolment then was about 283 then.

In 2018, it celebrated its 20th anniversary of the school's founding.

The anchor represents the Sengkang district which was once a harbour. It also signifies the school's determination to anchor to its beliefs.

The anchor and rope combine to form the initials of the school, Sengkang Secondary School.

At the base of the anchor is the school motto. 'Breakthrough' which reflects the undaunting and tireless spirit of the school in its continuous search for new ideas to improve itself.
