The Shadow Secretary of State for the Future of Work is a position in the British Shadow Cabinet, appointed by the Leader of the Opposition. The posts responsibilities are shadowing the work and pensions department alongside the Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and Shadow Minister for Employment. The position is currently held by Angela Rayner, Labour MP for Ashton-under-Lyne. She was appointed to the role in May 2021 by Keir Starmer.[1]
