Shaker is the second and final album David Johansen recorded with the Harry Smiths. The album was released in 2002 by Chesky Records [3] and continues highlighting the American folk and blues music from the previous album, David Johansen and the Harry Smiths. The Harry Smiths personnel is the same as the band on the debut album, with the exception drummer Keith Carlock (known for his work with Steely Dan, James Taylor, and others), who replaced Joey Baron.

Shaker is currently the last album David Johansen has released as a solo artist since reuniting and returning to the New York Dolls in 2004.
