Sharmila Thapa is a Nepal-born Indian television host and actress.[1] She is one of the most popular hosts in the Tamil television industry.[2]

Early life and background[]

Sharmila was born in Narayanghat, Bharatpur, Nepal. She completed her graduation in Tourism and Travel Management from Anna Adarsh College for Women, Anna Nagar, Chennai.

Career[]

Sharmila moved to Chennai, Tamilnadu, India in 2009, to do her graduation in Human Resources and take up a corporate job. Sharmila started her career as a co-anchor for Vadivel Balaji. Later, she hosted shows with Adhavan. Sharmila Thapa made her acting debut in the Tamil serial Thendral. Apart from this, Sharmila has acted in a few films with Tamil actors like Ajith and Jayam Ravi. Sharmila also hosts a morning show called Vaanga Sirikalam on Adithya TV.[3]
