Shimelis Abdisa (Oromo: Shimallis Abdiisaa; Amharic: ሽመልስ አብዲሳ) is an Ethiopian politician serving as the president of the Oromia Region of Ethiopia since 18 April 2019.[1][2][3]

Background[]

Shimelis Abdisa was born in Shewa,Oromia Region, Ethiopia. Before his current appointment, he has served in various roles including chief of staff of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. In 2019, he became the president of the Oromia region[4]
