"Shine On" is a 1992 song by American group Degrees of Motion, featuring vocals by Biti Strauchn and Kit West. It is widely regarded as a classic club anthem and peaked at number 43 on the singles chart in the UK. But when re-released in 1994, it was even more successful, peaking at number 8 on March 27, 1994.[1] A music video was also made to accompany the song.
Critical reception[]
Larry Flick from Billboard called it "a rousing, gospel-flavored pop/houser. Anthemic chorus is empowered by Biti's inspiring lead vocal and a rush of choral chants. Fast picking up club adds, this contagious ditty is a worthy addition to pop and urban radio formats."[2] Maria Jimenez from Music & Media noted the song as "outstanding", adding that it "rides high on a positive tip charged by an up-tempo house beat."[3] James Hamilton from Music Week's RM Dance Update described it as a "frisky"[4] and "striking Biti wailed snappy disco-garage canterer".[5] Another editor, Andy Beevers deemed it an "excellent garage song".[6]
