Shriver is an upcoming American comedy film, written and directed by Michael Maren, based upon the novel of the same name by Chris Belden. It stars Michael Shannon, Kate Hudson, Don Johnson, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph.

In April 2017, it was announced Toni Collette and Thomas Haden Church had joined the cast of the film, with Michael Maren directing from a screenplay he wrote, based upon the novel of the same name by Chris Belden.[1] In May 2017, Whoopi Goldberg and Giancarlo Esposito joined the cast of the film.[2] In June 2020, Michael Shannon, Kate Hudson, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Jimmi Simpson, Zach Braff, Mark Boone Junior Aja Naomi King, Adhir Kalyan, and Benjamin King joined the cast of the film, with Collette, Church, Goldberg and Esposito no longer attached. Principal photography began in Los Angeles in February 2020. Filming was temporarily suspended in March due to COVID-19;[3] but resumed and filming was completed in April 2021.[4]
