Silvia Gonaone Makgone (born September 1963 in Aminuis) is a Namibian politician and teacher, currently serving as Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development.[1]

Makgone holds five tertiary education degrees in education and human resources, among the a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education. She worked as teacher at in Drimiopsis in the Omaheke Region from 1987 and was promoted to principal of in 1996. She also served as principal of other schools.[2]

Makgone became Member of Parliament in 2010, serving on a SWAPO ticket. When in February 2013 the Education Ministerial posts had to be reassigned due to the death of Minister Abraham Iyambo, she was appointed Deputy Minister of Education. Makgone replaced David Namwandi who was promoted to Minister.[2]
