Hanuman encounters Surasa, Sinhika and Lanki

Simhika, or Sinhika, refers to various demonesses in Hinduism. Generally, the term is seen as an other name of demoness Holika, sister of Hiranyakashipu . Contradictory to this, in some accounts, she was the daughter of Demon king Hiranyakashipu and was the sister of the Vishnu devotee Bhakt Prahlada.

Another Simhika is mentioned in the Ramayana. When Hanuman was crossing the ocean to Lanka, the kingdom of Demon Ravana, Simhika was hiding in the ocean and captured Hanuman's shadow, Hanuman dived into her mouth and came out tearing up her stomach, ending the life of Simhika..
