Connections between series[]

The main connections between the series is Bram Greenfeld, a character from the Creekwood series. He is the second cousin of Starr Carter from The Hate U Give, with their mothers being first cousins. Similarly, SJ Friedman from Dear Martin is Bram's first cousin, with SJ's mother and Bram's father being siblings. Both Starr and SJ are mentioned in Love, Creekwood, and the family tree was also confirmed online by Angie Thomas.[3]

All other novels are direct follow-ups, with the exception of The Upside of Unrequited and On the Come Up. Cassie and Molly Peskin-Suso from The Upside of Unrequited are cousins to Abby Suso from the main Creekwood series,[1] with Abby and Simon making minor appearances in the novel. Cassie and Molly were also mentioned in both Leah on the Offbeat and Love, Creekwood. Despite no characters returning in On the Come Up, it is set in the same neighborhood as The Hate U Give, and the events of the first novel were intended to be felt without being mentioned.[4]

It stars Nick Robinson in the titular role as he begins emailing someone under the alias of "Blue" while being blackmailed and threatened to be outed to his entire school.

The Hate U Give[]

The Hate U Give is the film adaption of Thomas's novel of the same name. The film is directed by George Tillman Jr. and written by Audrey Wells. Amandla Stenberg stars as Starr Carter, a high school student who witnesses a police shooting and has to decide to speak up about it or stay quiet.

On the Come Up[]

A film adaption of Thomas's second novel, On the Come Up, was acquired by Fox 2000 in February 2019, with George Tillman Jr. set to direct with Robert Teitel, Jay Marcus, Thomas Marty Bowen, Isaac Klausner, and John Fischer producing.[5] After the closing of Fox 2000, the rights were moved to Paramount Players, with Kay Oyegun added to write the adaption.[6]

Love, Victor[]

Love, Victor is an American teen drama web television series created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. It acts as a follow up to the film Love, Simon, and follows Victor Salazar (portrayed by Michael Cimino) who reaches out to Simon for advice about navigating life after moving to Creekwood and hearing Simon's story. The series was originally announced for Disney+ in April 2019 under the title of Love, Simon.[9] In February 2020 the series was moved to Hulu along with a new title, Love, Victor.[10]

The first season was scheduled to release on June 19, 2020 but was moved back to June 17, 2020 to avoid conflict with Juneteenth.[11] In August 2020, the series was renewed for a second season, which consisted of 10 episodes and was released in the United States on Hulu on June 11, 2021.[12][13] Internationally, the second season will premiere on Disney+ via Star on June 18, 2021.[14]
