Culture[]

Many Sinpali writers have made significant literary contributions. Poets such as Damodar Patra, Manohar Meher, Narayan Bharas Meher, Kandarp Panda, and Gayadhar Patra wrote in Odia during the pre-Independence era. However, the region was included in the Central Province.

Damodar is famous for writing the letter Malashri, a poetic form used mainly when praying to the goddess Durga. His 40 works have been preserved in the History and Archeology Department of Sambalpur University.[relevant?] Manohar Meher is also famous for his work, although most of his pieces have remain unpublished. Dr. Mahendra Kumar Mishra is a well-known folklorist, and his writings include Passeema Odisha folk culture, Kalahandira Loka Sanskriti, oral poetry of Kalahandi, and oral epics of Kalahandi. Dr. Harekrishna Meher is a creative writer, poet, and translator. He has translated Gangadhar Mehar's tapaswini from English, Hindi, and Sanskrit languages and Meghduta into the Sambalpuri language. Chandi Charan Bishi, Benudhar Pandey, Manoj Mehar, and Gobinda Sahu have also made their place in the fields of their writing.[citation needed][relevant?]

Economy[]

Sinapali's economy, like the rest of the Nuapada district, depends mainly upon its agricultural and forestry activities. Locals produce non-timber forest products (NTFP) such as the mahua flower, harida, bahada, and tol. Local agriculture is challenging due to limited irrigation facilities (less than 15%, only half of the state average).[2]
