Soberbo River (Portuguese: Rio Soberbo) is the river that cuts off the city of Guapimirim in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The Soberto River originates in the Serra dos Órgãos and has several waterfalls throughout its course, it flows into the Macacu River.
On rainy days on the top of the mountain range, the river will often fill up and cause the phenomenon known as "waterspouts" or "heads of water". Several people have died with this phenomenon,[1][2] because the rain clouds at the top of the mountain are sometimes seen by bathers who are caught in surprise.
