The softball competition at the 2022 World Games will take place in July of 2022,[1] in Birmingham in United States, at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Originally scheduled to take place in July 2021, the Games have been rescheduled for July 2022 as a result of the 2020 Summer Olympics postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [2]Softball will return to official programme of The World Games after nine years of absence.

Qualification[]

A total of 8 teams will compete in the softball tournament at the 2022 World Games.[3]

Qualification places were primarily based on national softball ranking. Seven best teams (including United States as host) qualified for the World Games. The last place will be awarded at European Softball Championships, which were scheduled to take place in 2020 but have been moved due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
