Sopotnia Wielka [sɔˈpɔtɲa ˈvjɛlka] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Jeleśnia, within Żywiec County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) south of Jeleśnia, 14 km (9 mi) south-east of Żywiec, and 77 km (48 mi) south of the regional capital Katowice.

The village has a population of 1,667. The biggest tourist attraction of the village is a local waterfall.
