Personal life[]

Jackson (née Levy) was born in Montréal, Canada to Florrie and Michael Levy. Her father, Michael, a graphic designer. After Stacey was born, he created a range of greeting cards taking her name - Stacey Liane. Growing up, Jackson attended a Jewish day school, Bialik, in Montréal, she was chosen as the school's concert gala honoree. She graduated from Concordia University in 1986.[6][7]

Jackson is proficient in French, Hebrew and Yiddish.[8] Jackson moved to New York to begin her television career at CBS News, before going on to Lifetime Television as a senior publicist and awards coordinator.[9] During this period working in television, Jackson continued her singing career with various bands including her Motown tribute band Fuzzy Dice.[10] Jackson has four children and resides in London.[11] She is married to American businessman, Henry Jackson. Jackson is an art collector and is also a member of the Council of the Serpentine Galleries in London.[12]

Jackson is known to be an advocate against age discrimination and is vocal about looking good and keeping fit over 50,[13] she is a working-mother and has been vocal about maintaining a work-life balance.[14][15] Jackson is involved with her university, Concordia University in Montreal, participating in panels and sharing her experience as an artist and influencer.[16]

Music[]

Jackson's career has seen the release of four albums and seven independent singles. Jackson's album Upside Down was released in October 2009 and is a collection of remixed Motown covers, some of which feature children who have previously performed at Music For Youth's Schools Proms. All profits from the sales of Upside Down went to Music For Youth.[17][18] Jackson's single, I Am A Woman, was released in 2011. The music video was released shortly after, showing her singing on a private jet having walked through her pantry to avoid the chaos of her family. In 2012, the track was remixed and that video was replaced with a video that was recorded in conjunction with MTV and featured , a reality TV cast member from MTV's The Valleys. In February 2011, Jackson travelled to Boston, where she spent a weekend in the studio with Snoop Dogg recording a collaborative single, Live it Up.[19][20]

In April 2012, Jackson was invited to present an award at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami.[21][22] Pointing Fingers was released in April 2013, which is featured on her debut album Live It Up, the music video was shot in New York featuring some of the cast of Made in Chelsea; Spencer Matthews and Binky Felstead.[23][24] The single reached Number 21 on the American Billboard Dance Chart[citation needed] [25] and number 8 on UK Club Charts.[26] In May 2014 Jackson released the single Dance The Night Away which peaked in the Dance Charts Hits at number 11 in the UK.[citation needed] The music video featured Made in Chelsea star Binky Felstead,[27] actor Terry Noble[28] and dancer Tobias Mead.

In July 2015 Jackson released another single, How Much Is That Hottie in the Window. The track features Andrew Derbyshire who appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2014.[29] The single debuted at No. 22 on the UK Commercial pop club chart,[30] it is one of the tracks off the 3-volume dance album entitled Stae Pumped which was released in early 2016.[31][32] Jackson has performed at gay prides in a number of British cities, such as Manchester, Reading, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Belfast and Chesterfield.[32][33][34]

In Spring 2016 Jackson's cardio/dance fitness compilation StaePumped was launched. Her new single and music video off StaePumped Volume 1 is a cover of Def Leppard's 1987 hit Pour Some Sugar on Me and in January 2019, Jackson released I Just Wanna Disco, the debut track from StaePumped Volume 2. I Just Wanna Disco features (Saxon Sound System) and the single package includes remixes by Moto Blanco and AM2PM. Instead of releasing a music video for that single, Jackson released a full 30-minute workout to do at home using the full album as a soundtrack. This video and patented StaeFit Apparel encourages older women to be the best possible version of themselves.[35][36]

In May 2021, Jackson releases "Live It Up: Rebooted" featuring Snoop Dogg,[37][38][39] celebrating the 10th year anniversary of her collaboration with the famous rapper.
