Star Kirano (Star କିରଣ) is an Indian Odia general entertainment pay television channel that will launch 1 May 2022 by Star India[1][2] wholly-owned by The Walt Disney Company India.[3] It broadcasts Odia television series and shows. It is said to bring the first Odia HD Channel.[4] According to some reports, the channel will be launching with a grand ceremony and new shows Sata Sure Bandha Ae Jibana by the most popular Odia TV producer Akshay Parija Productions,[5] Sani Chalila Sasughara and an Odia remake of Bengali serial Sreemoyee (Shanti) and a series named as Suhaga Sindura by most famous Odia Director Ashok Pati

Etymology[]

The word Kirano means Light in Odia Language same as the Hindi word Kiran.
