Station house officer

A station house officer (SHO) is the officer in charge of a police station in India and Pakistan. The SHO holds the rank of inspector[1] or sub-inspector.[2] In India, the law permits a station house officer to conduct the investigation of crimes.[3] As of February 2019, there are 15,650 police stations in India.
