Stefan Gieren is a German film producer and writer. On January 24, 2012, he was nominated for an Academy Award for the film Raju. His nomination was shared with Max Zahle.[1][2] He received a Student Academy Award twice - in 2011 for the film Raju[3] and in 2016 for the film Ayny.[4] In 2019 he received the German Film Award (Lola) in Gold for his film .[5]

He co-founded a network of educational TV stations in Afghanistan.[6]
