Stephanie D. Howse (born August 21, 1979) is an American politician and current member of Cleveland City Council representing Ward 7. Prior to that, she was a representative of the 11th district of the Ohio House of Representatives. Howse was raised in Cleveland, and is the daughter of former Representative Annie Key, who represented the same district.[1][2] In 2014, Howse won a six-way primary to succeed Sandra Williams in the Ohio House of Representatives,[3] and won the general election unopposed.

In 2021, Howse ran for a seat in the Cleveland City Council - the Ward 7 seat which she had help previously - and would win the election, leaving the Ohio House to take her council seat.[4]

Early life and education[]

Howse is a graduate of the Cleveland School of the Arts where she studied vocal and instrumental music. After high school, Howse earned her undergraduate degree in Civil Environmental Engineering from Florida A&M University and her master's degree in Environmental Studies from Cleveland State University.
