Steve Hansen is an American politician serving as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from the 14th district. Elected in November 2020, he assumed office on January 11, 2021.

Early life and education[]

Hansen was born in the Siouxland region of Iowa. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, political science, and criminal justice from Morningside University and a Master of Arts political science from the University of South Dakota.[1]

Career[]

Hansen served as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 1986 to 1994 and in the Iowa Senate from 1994 to 2002. After leaving the legislature, he worked as director of the Sioux City Public Museum. He was re-elected to the Iowa House in November 2020 and assumed office on January 11, 2021.[2][3]
