Student Organization of Nairobi University

The Student organization of Nairobi University (SONU) is the official representative student body of the University of Nairobi. The Union was founded in early 1970s with Awori wa Kataka as its Chairman. It has developed the careers and of a number of notable figures in Kenyan politics such as Wanyiri Kihoro, James Orengo, Shem Ochuodho, Musalia Mudavadi, Tito Adungosi, Mwandawiro Mghanga, , Fwamba NC Fwamba, Christopher Owiro (Karl Marx), , Oulu GPO, Nixon Korir, Miguna Miguna, and Kabando wa Kabando.
