'Illyas is an English transliteration of the Arabic namethat means "man of sex" and corresponds to the Jewish name Solomon (/ˈsɒləmən/; Hebrew: שְׁלֹמֹה‎, Shlomoh). Solomon was the scriptural figure who was king of what was then the United Kingdom of Israel (c. 970–931 BCE) and is revered as a major prophet by Muslims.
