He is the first Thai artist to have entered Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart, with five of his songs making it to the top 10.[1] Suppasit is set to produce and star in "The Ocean Eyes", Asia's first aquatic veterinary series joint venture between Thailand, China and the United States.

Early life and education[]

Suppasit was born on 21 February 1991. His father's name is Boonsak Jongcheveevat and his mother's name is Suporn Jongcheveevat. He has one younger sister, Jomkwan Jongcheveevat. He graduated high school from Kasetsart University Laboratory School (Satit Kaset), major in science and mathematics.

He proceeded to study his Master's degree in industrial engineering at Chulalongkorn University. Currently, he is studying for his PhD degree in industrial engineering at Chulalongkorn University.[2]

On March 15, 2018, Mew created the name of his fan club: ‘Mewlions’ - a portmanteau of his nickname Mew and the word millions.

Career[]

Acting[]

Suppasit began his acting career in the boys' love (BL) Thai series I Am Your King (2017). Prior to shooting I Am Your King, Suppasit was cast in the Thai version of the Australian mock-dating reality show, Take Me Out Thailand.[3] Subsequently, he also participated in the spin-off Take Me Out Reality Thailand, where contestants go on dating activities such as picnic dates, theme parks etc.

The following year, Suppasit was cast in his first main role in the BL series, What The Duck: The Series (2018), as "Pree". Due to the series' popularity, it was announced that a second season would start filming.[4] What The Duck 2: The Final Call, premiered on March 18, 2019 on LINE TV.

In early 2019, it was announced that Suppasit would star as "Tharn" - one of the main protagonists of GMM One's and LINE TV's TharnType: The Series. The series immediately gained popularity within Thailand as well as international audiences.[5]

Suppasit and his fellow actor won "Best Kiss Scene" at the 2020 LINE TV Awards for a scene in TharnType: The Series. Suppasit and Kanawut were also the first BL couple to appear in the February issue of Harper's Bazaar Thailand.[6] Due to the immense outpour of fans trying to read the article, Harper's Bazaar Thailand's website crashed.[7]

With the positive response to TharnType, a second season was announced and auditions would start in early 2020,[8] with production in mid-2020. Due to the global pandemic of novel COVID-19, production was postponed to ensure the safety of the actors and crew. "Tharntype The Series 2: 7 Years of Love" premiered on November 6, 2020.

Suppasit along with his co-star made a guest appearance in the 2020 series "Why R U?" as Tharn.

In 2020 he was interviewed as “Actor Mew Suppasit” by HiSoParty and was interviewed once again for HiSoparty’s 18th Anniversary in 2021 as “CEO Mew Suppasit”.

With Suppasit's popularity growing, his fan club has bought rights to name stars after him.

Suppasit starred in a short action film called Undefeated[9] by Garena Free Fire TH, along with Yaya Urassaya and Luke Voyage. It was released on March 9, 2021.

Suppasit played the lead role of "Maen", an ordinary man who likes helping people in his neighborhood despite being perceived as weird by some, in the mini-series Super แม้น (Super Maen) under the Drama For All project by Thai PBS. This project is an experimental TV program which aims to expand a communication boundary in the society wherein people who have vision and hearing disorders can also enjoy the series. It was released on August 21–22, 2021.

Suppasit is set to produce and star in "The Ocean Eyes", Asia's first aquatic veterinary series joint venture between Thailand, China and the United States. The series will be produced under Mew Suppasit Studio and is expected to be released in 2022.

Music[]

Suppasit made his official debut as a singer upon the release of his first single titled "Season of You" on August 1, 2020. The song and music video were launched through a global press conference with the hashtag #SeasonOfYouGlobalPress trending number 1 on Twitter worldwide and in 16 other locations. It became the most tweeted hashtag on August 1 with over 1.2 million tweets.

On November 19, 2020, Suppasit published his second single titled "Nan Na". In a global press conference[10] on that same date, he announced multiple future projects, which include a full album coming out the following year and a new drama series titled 'Aquarium Man' with him as male lead and executive producer. The series will start production in 2021. The music video for "Nan Na" also reached over 1 million views in 22 hours.

On February 4, 2021, Suppasit released his third single titled "Good day".[11]

Suppasit released his fourth single titled "THANOS" on March 14, 2021. This song is a ballad about wanting and being able to disappear from someone’s life. The music video featured the Thai actress Min Pechaya.

On June 18, 2021, Suppasit released his fifth single titled "Summer Fireworks", his first international song with full English lyrics that was written and composed by himself. Suppasit wrote and dedicated this song to a fan named Summer who had sent him a letter the year before and died.

On August 1, 2021, in celebration of the first year anniversary of his official debut as a singer, Suppasit released his debut album titled "365" together with the music video of the album's promotional single, "Drowning", which is another song that he wrote and composed by himself. The album debuted at # 3 on the worldwide iTunes album chart. It charted at # 1 in 18 countries, including Thailand and it also entered the top 100 charts in 43 locations (# 2 in Japan, # 4 in Australia and # 11 in the USA). With the success of the album, Suppasit became the first and only Thai artist to debut an album that reached # 13 on iTunes' Global Digital Artist Ranking.[12]

Five of the songs from the album made it to Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart where the song "Drowning" rose to No. 4, closely followed by “Missing You” ft. Zom Marie (No. 5), “Let Me Be” ft. Autta (No. 6), “More and More” (No. 7) and finally “Time Machine” (No. 8). Suppasit is the first Thai artist to have entered this chart.[13] Suppasit was then featured in an article by Forbes saying that his Billboard achievement is "typically reserved for only the biggest and most popular acts in the world. With his clean sweep, the Thai superstar has proved that he not only had a dedicated fan base ready to support him, but that he may have America in his sights as the next country to conquer with his art."[14]

Suppasit collaborated with American singer-songwriter Gavin Haley on an acoustic version of the song The Way I Am. The official music video was released on August 25, 2021.
