Surizai Bala is a village and Union Council in Peshawar District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.[1] The Pashtuns of this village speak the Pashto language and practice Pashtunwali, a traditional code of conduct and honour.

According to the Mufti Haasan, the Surizai was a jungle and Sher Shah Suri, on his way to Delhi, left some of his family members here, giving it the name Surizai. His elder brother Khan Muhammad Khan fill ill and he constructed a house on the name Khan khel which is now the major Mohallah of Surizai Bala. His other relative Hassan Khan established on other Mohallah. The people of Surizai Bala are known for their braveness. They fought against British in the leader ship of great Mujahid Multan Khan and defeated the UK forces time and again.
