Susana Dosamantes (Spanish pronunciation: [suˈsana ðosaˈmantes];[1] born María del Perpetuo Socorro Guadalupe Susana Dosamantes Rul Riestra on 9 January 1948, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico) is a Mexican actress. She has won the 1990 TV y Novela "Best Antagonist Actress" award, for her part in the “Morir para vivir” telenovela.[2]

Since 1968, she has worked in around 50 movies and TV series, including a number of telenovelas (Spanish-language soap operas). She starred in the films Rio Lobo (1970), Day of the Assassin (1979) and Hit Man [fr] (1982), and worked in the telenovela El Juramento.[3]

María del Perpetuo Socorro Guadalupe Susana Dosamantes Rul Riestra was born on 9 January 1948 in Guadalajara, Mexico, daughter of Mario Dosamantes Rul and María Elena Susana Riestra Alcaraz.

She is the mother of Mexican pop diva Paulina Rubio.[4]
