The SHMS Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) is a hospitality management school situated in Caux and Leysin in Switzerland. SHMS has been created in 1992 and has 30 years of experience in the education sector. It trains students whose goals are to obtain managerial careers in the hotel and hospitality industries. The school offers various programs other than the basic bachelor's degree BA (Hons) in International Hospitality Management, including Postgraduate and Master's programs. SHMS was ranked in the top 4 institutions for hospitality management in the 2021 .

SHMS is owned by the Swiss Education Group (SEG),[2] an investment of Invision Private Equity AG.[3] Invision invested in SEG in 2008.[4]

History[]

SHMS is based at the Caux-Palace, which was the largest hotel in its day. Built on the Caux Mount by the Swiss architect Eugène Jost, it was inaugurated on 7 July 1902. Built in 1902, the Caux Palace was one of the most advanced, luxurious, and biggest hotels ever designed in Switzerland.

Celebrities such as Prince Ibn Saud, Rudyard Kipling, John D. Rockefeller, and the Maharajah of Baroda, visited and stayed there until the Second World War. After the war, the Caux-Palace played an instrumental role in worldwide peacebuilding and reconciliation efforts. SHMS has a second campus in Leysin at the Mont-Blanc Palace. The Leysin campus was the former Club Med Hotel in Leysin.[5]

SHMS's academic programs combine practical elements from all aspects of the hospitality industry with management skills. It prepares students for senior international positions in the field through different programs (Bachelor, Master, Postgraduate and MIB).
