TECH is a private international educational group that provides online education.[1] The educational group was founded in 2015, starting its activity in Latin America, where it has its main university: TECH Mexico.[2]

Nowadays, the educational group offers more than 10,000 different university courses[3] in online/digital format.[4]

History[]

The TECH Education group was founded in 2015 by the Spanish company Tech Education Rights & Technologies SL, organized as an international cluster of private universities that  originally operated mainly in Spanish-speaking countries.[5]

Due to its eminently online and digital character, the group takes the name TECH, with the objective of guaranteeing access to higher education to anyone, regardless of the geographical area in which they reside.

In its beginnings, the institution’s educational offering was focused on primarily on the Health Sciences. Subsequently, thanks to the economic growth of the company between 2017 and 2018,[6] the educational group is committed to expanding its areas of knowledge to Technological Sciences and Social and Business Sciences, opening new faculties and schools.[7]

In 2019, TECH Technological University Mexico was officially recognized as an institution of higher education, with the incorporation of the first Degrees, Master's Degrees and Doctorates.

In February 2019, TECH made a strategic agreement with Harvard Business Publishing,[8][9] making it the first online university to implement Harvard Business School Case Studies.[10]

As of 2020, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, distance learning is regarded as an effective alternative to traditional methods. Consequently, there has been an exponential increase in the enrollment rate, as well as in the teaching team, totaling over 6,000 teachers.

In 2022, the educational group extends its borders to English-speaking countries, incorporating the first studies in English.

In February 2022, TECH signs a multi-year agreement with the National Basketball Association (NBA),[11] making it the NBA’s official online university in Latin America.

Academics[]

At present, the educational group operates in Spanish and English-Speaking countries. The current student body is composed by more than 100,000 students[12] from 112 different countries. Moreover, there are more than 500,000 graduates[13] around the world.

The educational group is focused in postgraduate education and the ongoing education.[14] The study programs include Master's Degrees and Specialist Diplomas in collaboration with the CEU Cardinal Herrera University, located in Valencia (Spain), as well as continuing education programs in collaboration with Panamerican University (Mexico).

The educational group also offers universitary programs with recognition of official validity of studies (RVOE by its acronym in Spanish) from the Mexican Secretariat of Public Education. Specifically, 18 degrees, 67 Master's Degree and 3 Doctorates.

Methodology[]

The educational group uses a specific learning methodology, known as the Re-learning system. This methodology is based on guided reiteration, with the aim of helping the student overcome the "Forgetting Curve" hypothesized by the German psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus.[citation needed]

This system is combined with the Harvard Business School Case Studies thanks to an agreement with Harvard Business Publishing.[citation needed]
