TTEC, formerly named "TeleTech", is an American customer experience technology and services company headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, founded by Kenneth D. Tuchman in 1982.[3]

History[]

Founding and early developments (1982-1996)[]

The company was founded in 1982 by Kenneth D. Tuchman, who is the company's chairman and CEO, under the name TeleTech Holdings, Inc.[4] In 1986, the company moved to Sherman Oaks, California.

By 1995, it had added call centers in other states. In 1996 it completed its IPO.[5]

International growth and recent development (since 1997)[]

After the completion of its IPO global operations begin. In 1998, the company expands to Scotland, Canada, Argentina and Brazil. Three years later the expansion continues, centers were opened in the Philippines.[6] In 2006, TeleTech acquired Direct Alliance.

In 2010, TeleTech acquired an 80 percent stake in the management consulting firm Peppers & Rogers Group.[7] The same year, the company expands into the Middle East. Four years later, it grew its presence in Europe by starting operations in Sofia, Bulgaria.

In 2018, TeleTech announced its name change to TTEC.

In 2020, TTEC acquired intelligent automation CX provider Serendebyte[8] and Amazon Web Services partner VoiceFoundry.[9]

TTEC operates worldwide and is currently active in 24 countries.[25] As of 2022, TTEC has more than 62,000[6] employees. Annual revenue for 2020 was reported at $1.95 billion.

Management and leadership structure[]

TTEC is managed by a leadership team of 11 members (2022). Kenneth D. Tuchman is the founder and current CEO of the company.[26] TTEC's board of directors has eight members as of 2022. The chairman of the board is Kenneth D. Tuchman, who has been in this position since its formation.[27]
