Taro Sugimoto (杉本 太郎, Sugimoto Tarō, born 12 February 1996 in Tajimi) is a Japanese football player who plays as a midfielder for Avispa Fukuoka.[1]

In October 2013, Sugimoto was elected Japan U-17 national team for 2013 U-17 World Cup. He played all 4 matches and scored a goal against Venezuela. Japan run to the round of 16.[2]
