Tasha Boerner Horvath (born February 1, 1973) is an American politician who serves in the California State Assembly. A Democrat, she represents the 76th Assembly District, which encompasses coastal parts of northern San Diego County. Prior to being elected to the State Assembly, she served on the Encinitas City Council.

Boerner Horvath was first elected to the State Assembly in November 2018 after defeating fellow Democrat Elizabeth Warren, a freelance journalist, not related to the former Presidential candidate of the same name.[1]

Biography[]

Boerner Horvath earned an M.A. in International Studies from Claremont Graduate University Institute of Politics and Policy.[2] Part of Tasha's graduate work was done at Humboldt University of Berlin. She received her B.A. in Political Science in 1995 from the University of California, Berkeley.[3]

While living in Europe, Tasha met her husband, Istvan Horvath.
