Tessa Rose Ferrer (born March 30, 1986)[3] is an American actress. She is known for playing Dr. Leah Murphy, a surgical intern then resident, in Grey's Anatomy.

Personal life[]

She is the daughter of singer Debby Boone and Gabriel Ferrer.[3]

Career[]

In 2012, Shonda Rhimes cast Ferrer in a recurring role as Dr. Leah Murphy in Season 9 of the ABC drama series Grey's Anatomy.[4][5] In June 2013 she was promoted to series regular for season 10;[6][7] however, in March 2014 (2014-03), it was announced that she would be exiting the show at the end of the season.[8] In 2016 season 13, episode 6, Ferrer returned to her recurring role as Dr. Leah Murphy in Grey's Anatomy.

In 2014, Ferrer had recurring role in the CBS series Extant.[9] In 2015, she had recurring role on the second season of FXX comedy series, You're the Worst.[10]
