The American Rodeo or RFD-TV’s The American debuted in 2014. The rodeo is an annual event that takes place the first weekend in March at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.[1]

The American Rodeo is attended by thousands of fans every year. Rodeo competitors compete for their share of $2.5 million in prize money. In 2020, more than 130 competitors and their horses competed. All ages are eligible for the $1 million bonus. This rodeo is still considered the "Richest Weekend in Western Sports" due to the fact that it pays out $2.5 million.[2] The 2021 edition of the event consisted of a limited and socially distanced crowd because of the COVID-19 pandemic. From 2019 to 2021, The American Rodeo was sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). As of 2022, the event is now owned by Teton Ridge. [3]
