The False Lover Won Back is Child ballad 218 (Roud 201).
Synopsis[]
A maid pleads with her lover, who tells her that he is going to woo a fairer lady, and she can choose another man for all he cares. She chases after him on foot. As they reach towns, he tries to bribe her with gifts, to leave him, but at the third town, he has fallen in love with her again. As her last gift he purchases a wedding gown.
